Creating Space and Comfort with a New Partition Wall
We were asked to install a new partition wall to create an additional room within a family home. The new wall was fully soundboarded, insulated, and finished to match the existing interior, providing privacy, warmth, and a clean, professional look.
The project began with the installation of a timber stud wall to divide the space and form a new room layout. Once framed, we insulated the wall for both warmth and sound reduction before fitting plasterboard to both sides.
After boarding, the wall was skimmed and finished to a smooth surface ready for decorating. We then fitted a new door with architraves and matching skirting boards to tie everything in with the rest of the home. The result is a practical new space that blends perfectly with the property’s existing style.
The Result
The completed room looks seamless and well built, blending naturally with the rest of the house. The wall is solid, well insulated, and finished to a high standard with smooth plasterwork and neatly fitted joinery. The new layout makes the home more practical for the family, adding privacy and comfort without losing any sense of space. It’s a great example of how well-executed internal alterations can completely change how a home works and feels.
